Our primary export product is Ready-made Garments (RMG). The textile and clothing industries are the key drivers of growth in Bangladesh’s rapidly expanding economy. Textiles and garment exports serve as the main source of foreign exchange earnings. By 2021, textiles, clothing, and ready-made garments (RMG) accounted for 77% of Bangladesh’s total merchandise exports. Bangladesh ranks second in the world, just behind China, as the largest exporter of apparel for western brands. Approximately 60% of the export contracts for western brands are with European buyers, while around 40% are with American buyers.

Our second major export category is Leather and Leather Goods. The government aims to increase the country’s leather and leather goods exports to US$ 12 billion by 2030. The target is set for the period between 2021 and 2030, with efforts aligned to the national export policy.
